Geotechnics is proud to announce that we are now operating in the Hawkes Bay region!
As part of our business plan for the year, we had a goal to expand our business and set up a laboratory in the area. Those plans moved ahead much faster once the cyclone hit and we were asked to be involved with the recovery work.
Our team has been on the ground assisting with stop bank repairs which were caused by the cyclone. Two of the main rivers in Hawkes Bay, Ngaruroro and Tutaekuri, rose quickly with powerful water, breaching over the stop banks and causing them to scour.
We have been involved with the rebuild of these stop banks, providing construction supervision and methodologies for repairs, as well as overseeing contractors on the project. We’ve also been carrying out test pits along the site and providing CMT testing such as NDM’s for all the backfill.
After temporarily working in a small office container, we are pleased to now have our own spacious premises, which will include a fully operational laboratory, allowing us to provide field and laboratory testing to the region.
It’s been an outstanding effort so far to help the people of Hawkes Bay get back to normality. Our team have loved playing a part in servicing the community and will continue to do so.
Our new laboratory is located at 92 Old Ford Road, Onekawa. If you’re in the Hawkes Bay region, feel free to reach out to our team – we’d love to say hello!
